Studio

The purpose built new studio houses our resident professional potters and degree students. It also provides flexible workspace for visiting international artists, apprentices, short course and intensive course participants.

Learning by doing has always been at the heart of the Leach Pottery so our resident potters spend half of their time making our soda-glazed Leach tableware under the guidance of lead potter Jack Doherty. The tableware produced is sold through the Leach Pottery shop, website and through a small number of quality shops and outlets.

The Leach Pottery studio is supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation

Intensive Workshops

Whether you are professional, student or a keen amateur potter, an intensive week working in the environment of a professional pottery studio within the historic Leach Pottery is a unique and rarefied experience. This is an opportunity to brush-up on particular techniques, explore new approaches, or just have dedicated time and space to practise.
