Bernard Leach and the Studio Pottery Movement of British Columbia (Talk) by Alex Lambley

  • St Ives Arts Club Westcotts Quay TR26 2DZ United Kingdom

Thinking of his four Canadian apprentices, John Reeve, Glenn Lewis, Mick Henry and Ian Steele, Bernard Leach once said that he had ‘a hope of something in Canada.’ The Studio Pottery movement of British Columbia was the result. PhD researcher Alex Lambley presents new research on Leach’s philosophy and practice and its transnational reception in the 1960s and 70s.
