Smeatons Pier, St Ives

Many local people from St Ives came along to the Leach Pottery on Saturday 12 March 2016 and helped us to decorate tiles for a mural for Smeatons Pier.

The mural decorates the pier’s refurbished sheltered seating area as part of the St Ives regeneration project and depicts key events in the history of the town.

Wednesday Wanderers

A creative walking, nature and ceramic project for people living with dementia and their carers in the St Ives area.

It involves walking in the Cornish landscape and using nature as inspiration for ceramic artwork. The aim is to enhance physical and mental wellbeing and help to reduce isolation and loneliness.

Kresen Kernow- Tile Project

A series of inspiration days and tile making workshops working with the Cornish Archives and Carefree Cornwall. Using inspiration from the archives and studies library; the development site at Redruth and the Leach Pottery, 7 young people from Carefree took part in this inspiring project, learning clay decorating techniques to produce 60 tiles to display at the new archives centre in Redruth- Kresen Kernow.  .
