We are very excited to present two new exhibitions in a preview evening on 12th October. Please join us for a chance to get a first look at the new exhibitions, chat to the potters, have a glass of wine and a relaxed look around the Pottery.
In the Shop Gallery the Leach Pottery proudly presents ‘Matthew Foster: An Apprenticeship’. The first solo show of Matthew’s career, it marks the completion of his three-year Leach Apprenticeship which began in 2015.
The exhibition showcases what Matthew has learnt, presenting a range of tableware, as well as larger pieces demonstrating his interest in and interpretation of forms with an East-West pottery influence. Matt loves to use tenmoku, shino, and ash, glazes alongside skilful and elegant, brush-decorated pots.
All works for sale £20 - £300
In the Entrance Gallery we present our first exhibition of Clementina van der Walt’s pots. Celebrating the completion of a three-week Leach Pottery residency, the exhibition features pots made during her residency and also in South Africa.
The Leach Pottery works mark a change in stylistic and material approaches as Clementina introduces more colour to her pots, taking inspiration from the St Ives Artist Colony to make a small collection of painterly earthenware domestic and decorative pots.
