Amanda has been working at the Leach Pottery since graduating with a degree in studio pottery in 2000. She joined Joanna Wason and Trevor Corser making pots to sell in the old pottery. The next five years were spent learning Leach making and decorating techniques, throwing on a kick wheel and firing a gas kiln.
Amanda uses porcelain, decorating by incising into the clay or painting with pigments but particularly enjoys fluting which is a technique using a sharp tool to cut vertical lines onto the pot surface. Her pots are beautifully elegant, finely crafted and are a lovely example of Leach inpspired workmanship.
