5 Day Exploring making and decorating

23-27 July 2018, 10am-4pm

13-17 August 2018, 10am - 4pm

A rare opportunity to join our lead potter for an intensive 5 day masterclass. Structured to include a wide variety of making, finishing and decorating techniques and taking a look at form and how a pot is made from start to finish.

Maximum number of students: 5
Cost: £490.

The course involves throwing pots, hand building and discovering many ways you can decorate a pot at different stages of the making process, from adding to the surface with clay or slip, fluting and faceting, texturing, using wax resist and brushwork - decorating onto a fired surface (bisque pot/tile). Each day will see demonstrations followed by practice. In addition to the pots you make there will be pre-made pots and tiles available to practice techniques learned.

Be inspired, gain new skills and pick up some valuable tips on this extensive week.

At the end of the workshop, you should have 5 pieces that will be fired in the Leach Pottery kilns.  Collection of the pieces will be possible about 4-6 weeks after the workshop.
