I studied fine art at Kent University 2004-2006 worked for Joseph Clarke at the millennium gallery St Ives alongside a collection of exciting contemporary artist many of which are local.
In October 2015 I joined the leach pottery as the second Seasalt bursary apprentice which gave me the opportunity to learn from and work alongside the talented and diverse production team.
This environment and opportunity allows me to develop my personal work. At the moment I'm focusing on organic semi abstract brushwork influenced by eastern traditions and the leach legacy and forms that hopefully feel comfortable and are enjoyable to use.
My approach to my work is as both artist and tradesman placing importance on function more than appearing beautiful.
My aim is to achieve a transition between the traditions that influence me and a contemporary practice that speaks of my personality.
