One Day Handbuilding Workshop

with Tamsyn Trevorrow

Thursday April 13th. 10am-4pm

Perfect for Beginners

Local Artist and Potter, Tamsyn Trevorrow is putting on a one day workshop during the Easter holidays for pottery enthusiasts who want to have a go at producing beautiful hand made pottery.  Tamsyn will begin with an introduction of herself and her work, showing examples of how they have been built and fired.  There will also be a short discussion on the possibilities of hand building as well as looking at other examples of work, i.e. African pots and sculpture.

During the course you will make 3 pieces of work, exploring and pushing the boundaries of hand building through pinch, coiling and slab techniques.  Throughout the day practical demonstrations will take place as well individual guidance.  A further talk and discussion on inlays, slips and glazes will conclude the course.

All firing will take place after the course for the work to fully dry out and will be ready for you to collect within 4-6 weeks or sent on to your specified address at a small postage charge.

Cost £75 per person including all tuition, materials and firing

Tamsyn Trevorrow

Tamsyn's work explores the interaction between the land and sea. Fascinated by the ever-changing landscape sculpted by the elements she captures this through colour, form and texture. She grew up in Cornwall and has travelled extensively abroad. Cornwall's beautiful yet rugged landscape surrounded by the coast has spurred her inspiration, investigating the many beaches and isolated coves. The shoreline, aerial views, rock formations, pools, crags and lines, texture, found objects, erosion and decay.
