By car
Newlyn School of Art is situated just a 5-10-minute drive from Penzance and a thirty-minute drive from from St Ives.
To reach the school by car take the A30 heading west; at the Penzance roundabout with Tesco supermarket continue on the A30 west by passing Penzance. Travel straight over three further roundabouts and then turn left at the next crossroads onto the B3315 signposted ‘Newlyn’ and continue until you reach the crossroads in Newlyn. Turn right onto Chywoone Hill (continuing on the B3315). After 800 yards near the top of Chywoone Hill, to your right, you will see a large granite building set up from the road above a tall granite wall. Turn right here into Tredavoe Lane (opposite Adit Lane) and then immediately right into the entrance to Newlyn School of Art. Once you are through the gate drive past the front of the school to find the area designated as free parking for patrons of the school.

Arriving under your own steam
Newlyn School of Art can be accessed easily on foot from Penzance Train and Bus Stations. It is approximately a 35-minute walk or a 15-minute cycle ride, cycles for rent are dotted along the seafront from Penzance and are accessed and paid for via an app.

There is a bus stop, called Chywoone Hill, directly opposite Newlyn School of Art. It is serviced by 5, 5a and Lands End.

There is a regular service from London Paddington to Penzance Railway Station with a short 10-minute drive.
Parking
There is ample on-site parking for participants.
Petrol Stations
There are both Tesco and Sainsbury petrol stations just off the A30 on the outskirts of Penzance 10-12 minutes' drive from Newlyn School of Art.

Accessibility
Newlyn School of Art has disabled toilets and can be accessed by wheelchair users. However, the building is old, and the entrance is via a set of granite steps with a steep gradient to a doorway too narrow for many wheelchairs. Entrance is possible via the back door, but this is also extremely narrow. Please feel free to call us to check we can accommodate the dimensions of your wheelchair at the time of your booking.

5 Day courses 10am - 4pm Monday - Thursday, Friday 10am - 3.30pm
