As a registered charity the Bernard Leach (St Ives) Trust Ltd relies on arts funding and the generous support of the public in order to continue providing the Leach Pottery’s unique mix of education, history and enterprise. We raise 92% of our running costs ourselves onsite but additional support makes all the difference for our community work.

Every penny raised supports the Leach Pottery aims of providing training in the craft of pottery, appreciation of ceramic arts, education on the work of Bernard Leach as well as preserving Leach’s former home and workplace for future generations.

We are currently looking for the following funding;

  • The Florence Bursary 2026
    Support for a bursary of £2,100 to cover 100% of the course fees for one young person on the potter’s beginnings year long course in 2026 (January – November).

  • The Apprenticeship Programme

    Support for our 3 year apprenticeship training in the Studio to help cover the minimum wage for a trainee.

  • The Community / Classroom space in our new facilities

    We are looking to raise £5,000 to purchase wheels and equipment for our new community/ classroom space by December 2025.

    Any amount of support helps. Click on the donate button above, add your email address, then select the amount you would like to donate.
