Museum Welcome Volunteer
Our Welcome Volunteers are often the first point of contact visitors have with the Leach Pottery, playing a vital role in helping visitors to feel welcome, signposting events, exhibitions and activities across the pottery, daily. Please note, this role is currently closed as our museum is closed until 2027. What you do as a volunteer:
Most importantly, give our visitors (big and small) a warm welcome, take payment for entry and issue a map of the museum
Let visitors know what’s on that day / week
Learning some of the unique heritage and sharing with interested visitors
Shifts are half a day a week (though some prefer a whole day). Training will be ‘on the job’ with full support until you feel confident and ready.
Skills you can bring:
· A warm, friendly and approachable manner
· An interest in pottery, craftsmanship and our heritage
· A positive and flexible approach
· Good communication skills
