Museum Welcome Volunteer
Our Welcome Volunteers are often the first point of contact visitors have with the Leach Pottery, playing a vital role in helping visitors to feel welcome, signposting events, exhibitions and activities across the pottery, daily.
What you do as a volunteer:
Most importantly, give our visitors (big and small) a warm welcome, take payment for entry and issue a map of the museum
Letting visitors know what’s on
In time, learning some of the unique history of the site and sharing with interested visitors
Shifts are half a day a week (though some prefer a whole day). Training will be ‘on the job’ with full support until you feel confident and ready.
Skills you can bring:
· A warm, friendly and approachable manner
· An interest in pottery, craftsmanship and our heritage
· A positive and flexible approach
· Good communication skills
