Discover

Across an hour, find out about the history of the Leach Pottery as it is shared through illustrated presentation, pot handling, wheel demonstrations and self-led research through our selected archive of books, photographs, writing, pots and glaze recipes. For younger years this session will including sketching.

Participants will learn about;

·        The founding principes and ethos of the Leach Pottery

·        The story of, and reasons behind, the beginnings of the pottery

·        The key potters who have played a role in the development of the pottery across the last 100 years

·        The process of making a pot, from ground to firing

·        The current approach and workings of the pottery and wider impact

The Leach Story is a way of engaging with the history and ethos of the Leach Pottery in a way which would normally be done through a museum tour and will take place in the Learning & Production Studio at the Leach Pottery.
