May Half-Term: Flowers for St Ives at Tate St Ives
Date and Time: Saturday 23 May – Sunday 31 May, 11-3pm
Join us for a collaborative drop-in workshop celebrating spring, creativity, and community.
Where: The Tate Gallery St Ives
Price: Free with admission or Locals pass. Drop-in session, no need to book
Three large hand-thrown pots, made from local clay, will form the focus of the session. Families are invited to come to the studio and create “spring decorations” — small, flat-backed decorative forms that will be added to the surfaces of these collaborative vessels.
Taking inspiration from the imagery of Bernard Leach, participants can explore motifs such as flowers, animals, and simple repeating patterns. This is a chance to experiment with clay and contribute to collective pots.
Once complete, the collaborative pots will be glazed and given a permanent home in St Ives.
