May Half-Term: Leach on the Beach

Date and Time: Tuesday 26 May & Thursday 28 May, 10-12pm & 1-3pm

Join the Leach Pottery on Porthminster Beach in St Ives at our pop-up pottery studio. Bring clay together with elements of the beach to make a collection of clay-based experiments and play, see what you can create!

Price: This a free drop-in workshop, no need to book.

Sand Rollers

Just like the patterned rollers potters use to roll across their pots, experiment with much larger versions as you roll patterns into the sand.

Clay Funfair

Build with clay and make a wild funfair in the sand working with clay and the beach.

Rocky Pots

Experiment bringing the smooth clay and the rough surface of natural, beach materials together as you make beautifully textured pots

This free workshop is drop-in, and therefore no need for booking your place. The focus of this workshop is to experiment and play with clay alongside sand and therefore no outcomes will be fired. Small paper bags will be provided should anyone wish to take their creations home but please note once the clay is dry. It does not have a long shelf life unfired.

This workshop takes place on the beach and therefore there is limited coverage from the weather. Please dress whether appropriately.

In the event of poor weather cancellation of the event will be advertised on our website and social media. A drop-in workshop will be held at the Leach Pottery instead.
