Tea Bowl Workshop & Leach Story

Adaptable for all year groups

Discover

Leach Story: Through a throwing demonstration, talk and handling collection, participants discover the story of how the Leach Pottery revitalised the tradition of handmade pottery and the ethos and approach of the potters at the pottery across the years. For full details of what this talk includes please see here.

Make
Taking inspiration from the pots made by the Leach Pottery, participants will make their own hand-built tea bowls, yunomis, and learn about the journey clay makes from ground to kiln and the aesthetic blend of Japanese and Cornish heritage which underpins the Leach’s history.

Ceramics will be fired and posted back to the group within eight weeks of their visit.
