West Dorset Potter – Ali Herbert produces collections of work in Stoneware and Porcelain . Ali studied at Loughborough College of Art and Goldsmiths in London , but her career as a Potter began when she started work as Production Apprentice at Muchelney Pottery with John Leach, where she spent 3 years contributing to the standard ware range.

Ali’s Pots are designed with Domestic spaces in mind and are predominantly made for use. She also produces large one - off pieces.  She uses Cornish clay from St Agnes and produces stoneware with an earthy palette of glazes, and is still exploring ways of working with them to produce fresh colours and surfaces that complement the forms she throws. With some of her pewter glazed pieces -  some are two-tone,  Ali is playing with a mid - century look.
