Summer Holidays
Join the Leach Pottery this Summer Holiday with a collection of creative opportunities for all to have-a-go making with clay. Workshops take inspiration from the museum collection and take a playful approach.
Young Potter’s Throwing Have a go on a Potter’s Wheel. Find out how potters at Leach Pottery throw on a wheel and try for yourself.
Make with Leach: Tea Set Each session will focus on a different element of a tea set and participants are lead through how to hand-build the form.
Snakes and Ladders Snakes, Ladders, dice, chess and draughts. Take inspiration from the animals and forms across the Leach Pottery collection as you make figures and invent your own board games.
Summer Sketching Kit Every day across August, collect a kit of sketch materials including graphite, charcoal and chalk to sketch the pots in the museum. Use the sketching prompts or take your own lead.
Clay Station A collection of play based activities, in the Leach Pottery Museum, garden exploring the balance between clay and the senses.
Leach at the Palemon: We’re joining St Ives Library for The Summer Reading Challenge 2025 ‘Story Garden’ taking reading to the great outdoors.

Every day across August our Potter’s Corner is stocked with clay to make with and Sketching Kits are ready for drawing. In addition we have the following activities on offer (some taking place at Leach Pottery, others, where stated, offsite);
