Hamish Jackson: Shop
This is the first body of work Hamish has made since moving back to England from the United States in 2025. He has been exploring Cornwall — and its glorious array of clay — since last summer. Clay is a potter’s main material: the tap root of all ceramics. Hamish is determined to use as much local clay as possible; the grit and sand in Hamish’s local clay blend come from inconsistencies in the coarse local clays. They give the surfaces life and connect the pots to their origins in Cornwall.
Hamish draws inspiration from traditional English slipware, seeking to make new pots that are in conversation with this history. His jugs are particularly reverential to traditional slipware. He really enjoys making teapots; Hamish enjoys tea and loves making vessels to elevate people’s daily rituals.
